Art Nouveau Pendant in Sterling Silver This elegant Art Nouveau design depicts a snowbell with swirling leaves. From the design house Villemin, from late 19th century Paris. The design comes from a steel die that I used to impress the design. Many cycles of trimming, pressing and annealing are used, then the piece was textured and engraved further. This is the way jewelry was made throughout the 1850s to the early 1900s. Oxidized sterling silver, 8mm sterling silver ball and curb chain, 22" long, hook clasp.

I selected a beautiful example of a pendant with the flourishes that characterize Edwardian design and hand pressed the component in silver. This requires multiple cycles of trimming and annealing. Once the pieces are fabricated, they are trimmed by hand with a jewelers saw.
